——————————How the winner is decided, what could stop a draw, and what we do about it
- Under the contract's rules, nobody can choose the winner. Until the contract is frozen, our admin keys can override those rules — see “Who can change this contract” on the games page.
- Each round is decided by one public drand randomness beacon: the one drand publishes about 3 minutes after the round's draw time, fixed when the round's first ticket is bought. The contract checks that beacon against drand's published key before it pays anyone, so a made-up or altered beacon is refused, and once sales close, nothing on the Kadena chain — no block and no miner — can change the result. So under the contract's rules, nobody — whether a player, a miner or us — can choose the winner or know it while tickets can still be bought.
- drand can only stop publishing: each beacon has exactly one valid signature, so it cannot hand a round a different result. Its beacons are produced jointly by independent operators, and one could be known early only if enough of them worked together.
- One case is not covered: if the Kadena network stalled for more than about 3 minutes right at a round's close, or a miner rewrote that much of it, a ticket could be accepted after that round's beacon was already public. What limits it: the 3-minute wait is longer than any gap between blocks we measured on this chain — the longest was 136 seconds, over 120,001 blocks.
- If a round is never drawn — drand stopped, or nobody sent the draw — it is not stuck: once 90 days have passed since its beacon was due, anyone can trigger its refund, and each ticket gets its price back plus an equal part of any bonus. Until a refund lands, the round can still be drawn normally.
- What we do about it: our settlement program sends each draw once its beacon is out, and the contract lets anyone send it — from the games page, with any wallet, for only the network fee — so a draw never depends on us. Anyone can work out the winners from the published beacon before the draw is sent, and every prize has a published ceiling.
Every finished round, with what you need to recompute it: game results.
Who can change this contract
The games contract is not frozen. Until it is, any two of its three admin keys — held on separate devices — can override its rules in a single transaction: move money out of any game's pot, or change any record the contract keeps, including who owns a ticket, which would redirect a prize. They can also publish a new version of the contract. An override needs no new code, so the published source would not change, but every such transaction is public on the chain. Every rule on this page describes the contract as it is today. Freezing would end that power permanently; it has not happened. Separately, the contract's operator keys — which create games, schedule rounds and set the terms of future rounds — need only one of their three keys, and any one of them can replace the other two; freezing does not end that. Under the contract's rules the operator keys cannot move a pot's money or change a round that is already selling.
Before you start
Kadena mainnetchain 2KDA on chain 2- A Kadena wallet. You buy with your own wallet — EckoWallet, Zelcore, Koberlet, a Ledger device or a mobile wallet. It holds your keys and signs the purchase; this page never sees them.
- KDA in that wallet, on chain 2. Kadena keeps a separate balance on each of its chains, so KDA held on another chain cannot pay for a ticket here.
- A little more than the ticket price. Every transaction on Kadena costs a small network fee in KDA, and the account that sends the purchase pays it.
Using a Ledger device? The installer and the setup steps are on the Ledger page.

Your wallet signs; this page never sees a secret key.

Only numbers that are sold can win, and under the contract’s rules every ticket has the same chance — the notes below say how the winner is decided. A number is yours alone: nobody else can buy it in this round.

Tickets are paid in KDA to this game’s own pool account, and you pay the network fee for the transaction. Winners are paid inside the draw — there is nothing to claim.

How a round runs
- A round runs on three published instants, in UTC: sales open, sales close, and the draw.
- The first ticket opens the round and fixes its terms and dates for everyone, and which drand beacon will decide it: the one published about 3 minutes after the draw instant.
- Once that beacon is published, anyone may send the draw with it. The contract checks the beacon and draws the winners from it.
- Winners come from the tickets actually sold, so every round that is drawn has a winner, and they are paid inside the draw itself. There is nothing to claim.
- A round can be refunded in exactly one case: nobody drew it within 90 days after its beacon was due. Each ticket gets its price back plus an equal part of any bonus.
