Privacy policy

The short version

This site collects no user data. No accounts, no analytics, no trackers, no cookies, no advertising, and no forms that send anything to us. We operate no backend that could receive your data, and we have made a deliberate decision not to run any analytics product — including "privacy-friendly" ones.

If you write to us

If you choose to write to contact@smartpacts.io, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message, delivered through our email provider. We use them to answer you. That is the only personal data that reaches us, and it reaches us only because you sent it — nothing on this site sends anything on your behalf.

What stays in your browser

This site keeps exactly three things in your browser:

• the state of an in-flight cross-chain move on the holder portal or the trade page, so an interrupted move can be resumed. The site never generates or holds a key for Kadena mainnet: every mainnet transaction is signed in your own wallet;
• your light or dark mode choice, made with the toggle in the header, so it holds from page to page. It is one word kept on this device;
• while a wallet is connected, which wallet it is and the account’s public name, so the wallet stays connected as you move from page to page. It holds nothing that can sign. It is kept only for the browser tab you are in, and it is erased when you disconnect or close the tab. A wallet connected over WalletConnect (a mobile wallet, or the Koberlet desktop app) is not kept at all: that connection lives in the open page and ends with it.

Our games site, play.smartpacts.io, is under this same policy.

This data is functional and first-party: it never leaves your device for our benefit and is never transmitted to us — we have nothing to receive it with. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Who your browser talks to

The pages are static files served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any host, Cloudflare processes the technical data of each request (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver the site; that processing is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy ↗. The host offers a web-analytics script; this site’s security policy blocks it from loading, so it never runs and no analytics data is collected, and we are removing it from the host configuration. We view no analytics.

When you use the on-chain features, your browser talks directly to public blockchain API endpoints — api.chainweb-community.org for the contracts on Kadena mainnet. If you connect a wallet, your browser talks to it: EckoWallet through its browser extension, Zelcore locally (127.0.0.1), a Ledger directly to the device over WebHID, and a mobile wallet or the Koberlet desktop app over WalletConnect through Reown’s relay (relay.walletconnect.org) — the relay passes encrypted messages between your browser and your wallet; it sees your IP address, your browser type and this site’s name, and when messages pass (connecting, and each signing request) — never your key — and nothing about that session is kept in this browser. Your account name reaches the page only for as long as it is open, and is not stored. Those requests carry what is needed to run your queries and transactions (account names, signed transactions) and go to that public infrastructure, not to us. On the games pages, here and on play.smartpacts.io, your browser also fetches public drand beacons from api.drand.sh, so the page can show and check a round's result itself; like any website, that relay sees your IP address; that request carries only the round number being checked.

Anything you submit to a public blockchain is, by design, public and permanent — on Kadena mainnet that includes every transfer, vote and claim, linked to your account for as long as the chain exists. Do not put personal information in on-chain fields such as account names or token identifiers.

Links to third-party services (the block explorer, GitHub, wallet vendors) lead to services with their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
